In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead the implementation of comprehensive EHS programs that follow company, local, national, and international standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ANSI, ISO 45001, ISO 14001), addressing the specific challenges of the power and water industries. Ensure programs are scalable and adaptable across global operations and regional offices. Collaborate with teams to develop new initiatives and continuously improve existing programs.
  • Foster a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices, engaging employees at all levels, ensuring effective EHS communication and driving continuous improvement. Provide leadership and training on safety protocols, risk management, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with global EHS teams to align strategies, adapt initiatives for regional needs, and ensure effective communication across all operations.
  • Ensure environmental and safety compliance across all company facilities and operations by conducting risk assessments, implementing mitigation strategies and managing regulatory reporting. Oversee environmental stewardship initiatives, support sustainability programs, and lead emergency response planning to mitigate risks while ensuring global alignment with Corporate crisis management programs.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for workplace incidents, including near-misses, PSIFs, SIFs, hazard reports, and recordable events. Ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence and maintain accurate documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics to evaluate program effectiveness, lead audits, and identify improvement opportunities. Drive best practices and Advocate for continuous improvement in safety management and environmental protection.
  • Support all business needs with regard to enabling Emerson employees to access our customer sites, to include, but not limited to collaborate with business development and contracts teams to review safety related contractual provisions, including drug testing and background screening requirements and to support safety collateral required for proposals. To supervise and oversee drug testing and background screening requirements. Support on-site customer deployments with physical presence as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Security and Facilities teams to maintain security systems in compliance with company standards and to serve a project manager for EHS and security with regard to facility upgrades, relocations and expansions.

For This Role You Will Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in Engineering or Manufacturing 
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations
  • Ability to analyze data and implement solutions to improve safety and environmental performance
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Safety Certification (SMS, OHST, CIT, ASP, CSP, etc.) preferred. 
  • Process Safety Management experience. 
  • Project Management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills including root cause analysis such as Ishikawa diagram, Pareto analysis, change analysis, five whys, etc.
  • Proven digital literacy including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills are required with the ability to work as a team member.
