Summary Of Position Under the direction of the Practice Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating mandated follow-up revisits ordered by the provider for patients who require a follow-up in the office within two weeks of the initial appointment when the provider does not have an appointment on their schedule. In addition, the MRV nurse is responsible for coordinating home health and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) needs for Kintegra Health- Hudson medical staff, ordering and processing supplies for designated clinics based upon request and assisting with the coordination of medical equipment and supplies for new Kintegra Health access points.

MRV Triage Nurse Qualifications Minimum: The following qualifications are necessary to perform this job adequately. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities would be acceptable, subject to legal and/or regulatory requirements. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods. Ability to read and understand the English language. Ability to effectively maintain confidentiality of records and communicate with all levels of personnel. Knowledge of medical front office and medical office software for updating patient demographic information and navigating through the HER. Must have excellent knowledge of practical nursing theory and standard practices.
Required Skills: The candidate must have excellent verbal communication skills, be able to work with changing priorities, and have excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. The candidate must also be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority, maintain confidentiality, function as part of a team, and possess initiative. Basic medical terminology is required, and knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience.
Education: A graduate of an accredited License Practice Nurse program
Experience: Three years of clinical experience in a medical office is required. Other related experience may be considered instead of medical office experience. Home-health background is a plus.
Certification(s): BLS/CPR
Professional License: Unrestricted LPN license in the state of North Carolina
Additional Preferred Skills: Proficient in using all computer software utilized in practice. Knowledge of Home Health/DME process and documentation recommended
MRV Triage Nurse Key Responsibilities - Interview and gather an accurate history of present illness for follow–up visits via the EHR as outlined by the MRV Policy and Procedure.
- Use the nursing process to interview patients during follow-up intake.
- Review and update patient charts with current correspondence per office protocol regarding home health and DME orders to address patient needs promptly.
- Performs direct patient care, including, but not limited to, vitals, dressing changes, injections, and lab draws.
- Must be able to schedule patient appointments under the guidelines of the Administration.
- Document home health referrals and maintain referral logs and files of patients receiving home health services per office protocol.
- Serves as the principal liaison between Kintegra Health - Hudson and home health /DME agencies.
- Coordinates medical record requests for DME and home health referrals with the Medical Records Department.
- Reviews and approves laboratory, pathology, and special referrals invoices.
- Maintains an active medical supply vendor list.
- Maintains all medical equipment maintenance and logs; creates and maintains new logs as needed.
- Covers for the triage nurse as needed, schedule permitting, including proper documentation in the chart per policy and call logging.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
