About the Family:

A loving and organized family in Newport News, VA is seeking a dependable and engaging after-school nanny for their 5-year-old twin girls. They’re looking for someone who will keep the girls active and stimulated with creative, screen-free fun—someone warm, dependable, and able to step into a consistent weekly routine. 

Responsibilities: 

• Pick up twins from daycare each afternoon 
• Engage children with enriching, screen-free activities (e.g., crafts, outdoor play, library visits) 
• Oversee snack time, bath time, and bedtime prep 
• Maintain a consistent, safe routine 
• Communicate clearly with parents about daily activities and needs 

Qualifications: 

• Reliable transportation (family provides car seats) 
• Non-smoker 
• Comfortable handling after-school routines independently 
• Personable, engaging, and child-focused 
• Prior experience with young children preferred 
• College students encouraged to apply 

Additional Information: 

• Compensation: $20/hour 
• Start date: ASAP 
• Guaranteed pay for scheduled hours, even if released early 
• Nanny will still be paid if family is away 
• 4-day workweeks are acceptable (family is flexible) 
• Summer schedule remains the same

Schedule Notes: 

• Monday through Friday 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM 
• 20 hours/week 
• 4 days/week acceptable 
• Same schedule continues through the summer
