Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher/Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Butcher/Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for preparing and cutting various types of meat products while adhering to food safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong culinary skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare meat products according to specifications and customer requests.
- Ensure all meat is handled safely and in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat preparation area.
- Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and excellent service.
- Package meat products for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the department.
Experience
- Previous experience in food handling or meat cutting is preferred but not required; culinary training is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food production industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Familiarity with various cutting techniques and knife skills essential for meat preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
