NTA, Inc. is seeking a skilled, experienced Firmware Engineer to support research, development, and engineering activities at Redstone Arsenal. Duties will include the design, development, and testing of embedded system firmware, both hardware description language (HDL) designs in VHDL and low-level software in C/C++. Additional duties include electronics integration, testing, and data analysis in support of design verification and demonstration events. These firmware designs will support the development, integration, and testing of electronic subsystems for U.S. Army weapon systems. This position supports the Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) in the areas of missile and aviation system research and development.
Education and Experience: - Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 5 + years of experience in a relevant field
Required: - Experience with VHDL
- Experience with real-time C/C++ development and debugging
- Experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and Vivado/Vitis development tools
- Independent and self-motivated, problem solver, strategic thinker
- High level of computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel (~10% or less)
Desired: - Experience with Python or WaveMetrics IGOR Pro for data reduction and analysis
- Experience managing a small team of engineers
- Experience managing program planning, execution, and reporting
- Experience with git and GitLab version control software and issue tracking
- Familiarity with electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and understanding associated output products
Applicant must have a current security clearance or be able to obtain a security clearance through a government security investigation. U.S. Citizenship is required.
